Firstly make sure you choose a vendor who is CLP Compliant!- If you come across a vendor who has no CLP information, please do not buy. It may be an oversight on their part, but legal requirements state that CLP is visible at point of sale. With Sacred- Scents you will always find the correct information on our products.

Please read on for our safety guide so that you can enjoy your wax melts in a safe manner.

When you receive your wax melts, remove packaging before use. At Sacred-Scents we use different types of packaging, but please never put this into your burner.

Ensure your you are using an appropriate burner for wax, either a tea light or electric burner and check for signs of wear/damage (like hairline cracks) before use. If you have a slight crack, it is best to dispose of the burner safely, and time to buy a new one. Please also make sure that with tea light burners, it is suitable for wax melts, and there is enough height between the tip of the tealight flame, to the top of the burner.

If you are using a tea light burner, only use one unscented 4 hour tea light

Place your wax burner on a suitable stable surface, away from drafts, children and pets.

Place a small piece of your chosen wax melt into the well of your burner.  Please note some melts are large and you may need to snap or cut a piece of the wax melt off to avoid overflow.

Never add water or any other liquid to your wax or burner

Never leave your burner unattended.

When the fragrance has finished or you are finished with the wax melt, always dispose of the remaining wax responsibly.  Never put your burner in the fridge or freezer in an attempt to remove the left over wax and never use a knife.  The best way to removal the last of the wax in your burner is to put the candle out and allow the wax to cool slightly before soaking it up with a cotton pad. Then use another cotton pad or tissue to wipe your burner clean.
